so, i am working at blue collar press, and i DO get to be a printer. it's not that hard, but there's all sorts of little tricks to learn, and details to remember. it's hot, but i get to work with neat people, listen to good music, and it's only 4 days a week. tomorrow they're having a garage sale at the shop to promote themselves. some stuff is things they're getting rid of from the shop, and the rest is stuff employees are bringing in. should be cool, and really fun.
also, adam, a coworker and good friend, turned me onto watching tv on hulu.com. it's really amazing. you can watch full seasons of tv shows, and it doens't get shut down because they show you 15 sec or less commercials every now and then. adam showed me an episode of "its always sunny in philidelphia" on it and the commercials were for the show. its pretty great, and i've already watched 3 episodes of 30 rock today. and now i'm going to watch another one.
remember, if life keeps giving you anchovies, just add some cheese and make a PIIIZZZAAA!!

anthony the author
so, i've decided in my unemployment to write short stories for my friends. so, if you want one, let me know, and i'll type it up on my dad's old typewriter, and mail it to you. errors and all. these will not be perfect as far as type-o's go. i already finished one for emily moberly. also, give me your address, otherwise i can't mail it to you.

feed me to the forest
so, i'm getting pretty stir crazy at home. i am definitely going to hook up my computer (yes i haven't done that yet) and start coloring my old robot comic. it's been disgustingly humid, and when i have no reason to go anywhere i don't leave the house. i got some more old mcsweeney's in the mail today, which is good because i just finished 27 last night at 3 am. issue 16 is absolutely amazing. a true feat in odd package design (it's also the one with the comb and deck of cards with a story printed on them).
anyway, give me something to do.

in case you were wondering...

i would kill someone for one of these. the farfisa combo compact. the ultimate 60s gigging organ. oh man, i discovered these the other day and was thoroughly disappointed that i didn't have $700 to procure one. so, if you have anyone that you need murdered, and would be willing to barter with a farfisa organ, drop me a line.

i miss jim varney. not that i wished there were more ernest p. worrell movies. i actually think that he could have made some cool "serious" movies. jim carrey has done that somewhat. right? i don't know. he started off with some more serious, drama, background.
think about it.

summertime
is the living easy? yes, it is. for anyone who is still wondering... i am at home, basically just bumming around. i've been really wanting to work at blue collar again. so, i've gone and talked to them and filled out an app. they've basically said that i have a printing job when this guy glen leaves. they're pretty sure it's sometime soon. i guess i'll see how soon that is. i've also gone in another time to model some shirts for them, which was fairly regular for me when i interned there. each time i've visited i've come home with an amazing poster, and it makes me want to be there so bad.
so here i am sitting in my parent's basement, watching rushmore with the commentary on, blogging. ugh. i've been trying to draw pretty regularly, and i've liked what i've been coming up with. i feel like i'm getting better. i've also been trying to take advantage of not doing anything by reading more. i've finished my joan baez book, daybreak. it was pretty good, interesting. i've also been working through the latest mcsweeney's.
i've also been buying a bunch of records lately. partly out of boredom, and partly out of guilt that i actually need to support the starving artists that i've been stealing music from. most of the time you can find vinyl records for just as much as a cd. other times not. like sigur ros' new album is 24 euros. that's like 40 dollars or so? come on. probably not going to preorder that. however, norma jean finally released all of their albums on vinyl and you can get it all for $45. this and many others i've been dying to buy. gah.
more later i guess.
